SEGUE SOFTWARE INTRODUCES QUALITYWORKS FAMILY OF SOFTWARE TESTING PRODUCTS

Products validate all components of distributed Client/Server Applications

NEWTON CENTRE, MA, February 13 , 1996-Segue Software, Inc. today introduced the QualityWorks family of software quality tools. In a separate announcement, Segue introduced two new software quality products that are included within QualityWorks.

QualityWorks consists of Segue's QA Partner multi-platform test tool and integrated companion products, allowing application developers and software quality professionals an open, modular approach to implementing automated quality assurance solutions. QualityWorks leverages the power of QA Partner to enable Distributed Testing, Test Management, QualityWare, and Open Integration. These four major components are fully integrated with each other as part of the QualityWorks family. "QualityWorks is the natural evolution of Segue's product vision for enterprise software testing", explained Elisabeth Elterman, Chief Executive Officer for Segue. "Together these products combine and deliver testing functionality, productivity, methodology, and management. QualityWorks leverages the power of Segue's cross platform testing technology to validate all the components of 2nd generation distributed client/server applications." The QualityWorks components are:

• QA Partner - The premier multi-platform regression and functional testing tool serves as the foundation for QualityWorks.
• Test Management - A facility which provides fully integrated test planning, management, and reporting throughout the testing process. QA Planner allows a single point for customers to manage the testing process, allowing seamless integration of test planning with test creation, execution, results analysis, and management reporting.
• QualityWare - Packaged test scripts published using Segue's powerful Visual 4Test language that provides automatic testing. The first title in this series is GO!, which was introduced in December, 1995, and automatically creates routine GUI test scripts, more than six times faster than traditional record/playback techniques.
• Distributed Testing - Extend testing beyond one client and beyond the graphical user interface using QA Partner Agent technology. QA Partner:Distributed supports native network protocols and concurrent cross-platform testing across the network of both clients and servers. QA DBTester allows direct access to the application's database, extending automated testing to the direct verification and management of the application's data. Both QA Partner:Distributed and QA DBTester were announced today for immediate delivery.
• Open Integration - QualityWork's architecture permits the extension to integrate with complimentary technologies. This includes built-in support for leading development tools such PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, and SQLWindows. The QA Partner Extension Kit permits user defined extensibility to the testing architecture, making possible integration with any custom objects. Other integrated technologies include simulated load testing, which provide customers the ability to develop test plans and execute test scripts from within QA Planner and QA Partner that drive load testing products directly.

Bundled pricing is available for QualityWorks products, allowing customers to configure the appropriate testing system for their environment.
